His Excellency, Mr. Abdulla Saif
Chairman

H.E. Mr. Abdulla Saif is Advisor to H.R.H. the Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Kingdom of Bahrain. He holds an Honorary Doctorate in Humane Letters from Chicago’s DePaul University (2002) and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK (1990).

Before being appointed as Advisor to H.H. the Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, he was Minister of Finance and National Economy (1999 - 2005), he worked in different departments at Bahrain Petroleum Company for nearly 14 years, and he served as Head of Finance and Administration in Civil Aviation Affairs. He also spent nearly 25 years at Bahrain Monetary Agency, Bahrain’s central bank, as Deputy Director General, Director General and Governor.

H.E. Mr. Abdulla Saif has represented the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Board of Governors of the International Monetary Fund, the Islamic Development Bank, the Arab Monetary Fund and the Arab Fund for Economic & Social Development. In Bahrain, he has served as Chairman of the Pension Fund Commission, the Gulf International Bank, and the Gulf Air Company, and was a Member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Bahrain. Now he is Chairman of the Bahrain National Hereditary Anemia Society and Chairman of the Islamic Bank of Asia. He received the Feigenbaum Leadership Excellence Award on 26 March 2006.

Yousif Taqi

Mr. Yousif Taqi is the CEO of Al Salam Bank Bahrain. A Certified Public Accountant, Mr. Taqi has been active in the banking and financial services industry since 1983. During his career, Mr. Taqi has worked in leading positions for a number of institutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Prior to joining Al Salam Bank-Bahrain, he was Deputy General Manager of Kuwait Finance House (Bahrain) and was responsible for establishing Kuwait Finance House Malaysia.

Before this, Mr. Taqi spent 20 years with Ernst & Young, during which he provided professional services for many regional and international financial institutions. While at Ernst & Young, Mr. Taqi was promoted to Partner and was responsible for providing auditing and consultancy services to Islamic financial firms.

He is currently the Chairman of Manara Developments Company B.S.C., the Chairman of Amar Holding Company B.S.C. and a board member of ASB Biodiesel (Hong Kong) Limited, an affiliate of ASBB, and a board member of Al Salam Bank-Algeria and Aluminum Bahrain.

Mukundan Raghavaachari

Mukundan Raghavaachari - A Chartered Accountant and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) from the State of Colorado, USA, Mr. Raghavachari’s experience in the financial services industry goes back to 1988. During his career, he has worked for two “Big 4” firms in the region and the United States. Prior to joining Al Salam Bank-Bahrain, he held the position of Group Head of Strategic Development at Ahli United Bank. Mr. Raghavachari is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

Eric Tarleton 

Eric Tarleton is a retired CFA and a former audit partner of Ernst & Young in the Middle East. He has been involved in numerous feasibility studies and valuations and has wide ranging global experience, having also worked in the UK, the Middle East, Hong Kong, Africa and the Caribbean. He is a member of ASB Biodiesel's Audit Committee.

Management

Roberto Vazquez – CTO, Acting CEO

Mr. Vazquez joined ASB Biodiesel in June 2012 as Chief Technology Officer. With more than a decade's experience in the residual oil biodiesel industry, he has worked in different projects as Project Manager, Chief Engineer and Plant Manager. Before joining ASB Biodiesel, he completed the successful design and commissioning of a 200,000 ton-per-annum plant in the south of Spain. That plant transformed used cooking oils, animal fats, grease trap oil and other residuals into biodiesel for the top European petroleum operators. He holds an MS degree in Industrial Engineering, a BS degree in Physics and an Executive MBA from IE Business School in Spain.

Roselind Yeung - Human Resources Manager

Ms. Yeung is responsible for Human Resources at ASB Biodiesel. Prior to joining the company, she worked in the petrochemical industry for 15 years and for a US power supply manufacturer for seven years. Ms. Yeung is a professional member of the Hong Kong Institute of Human Resources Management. She received her MA degree from University of Lancaster in the United Kingdom.
